Uniforms . . . and Friday afternoons at 1:00 ... the Regular Army and Air Force men perform. Future nurses receive preliminary training at M.S.C. and head lor Butte, Billings, or Great Fails to receive further training and Caps. The P.E. majors take a lot of ribbing about tank suits . . . and muscles . . . but after four years schooling they are well qualified to enter physical education departments as teachers and coaches. And tM-e ie Abe F. B. COTNER Dcon of Science T- I VISION OF SCIENCE Watching over the many and varied departments of Science is F. B. Cotner. Lewis Hall is the home of those majoring in one of the fields of science and the Lewis Hall labs house everything from experimental animals to experimenting freshmen students. The various lab smells .... professional white jackets . . . dissecting animals and a few stray fingers ... all a part of science and education. The future professionals in bacteriology and medical technology receive more specialized training and learn early in their college career the intricacies of keeping lab jackets white. Butterfly net in one hand and microscope in t'other botanists search for that rare specie while those highly respected chemistry majors are confined to labs and test tubes. Students on their wcy to Lewis Holl to partake of o little science. Triplets in triple trouble. 20

Because of this group's action, students danced to the music of Billy May fall quarter and heard Stan Kenton winter quarter. This group worked with the Faculty Building Program and helped with the recent poll to increase the Building Fund. Jim and the Senate were the instigators of the Student Activity cards. This qroup spends our student activity fee wisely for forensics ... athletics . . . Student Union . . . student publications . . . and all student participation programs. Freshmen feel the Senate's authority when they are put throuqh their paces Freshman Week. In spring and fall the Associated Students show their zip in planning and executing the campus cleanup days. When summing up the effect of this group's activities ... it seems they have a hand in planning every day of our four years at M.S.C. 25
