Lewis Hall is the home of those majoring in one of the fields of science and the Lewis Hall labs house everything from experimental animals to experimenting freshmen students. The various lab smells .... professional white jackets . . . dissecting animals and a few stray fingers ... all a part of science and education. The future professionals in bacteriology and medical technology receive more specialized training and learn early in their college career the intricacies of keeping lab jackets white. Butterfly net in one hand and microscope in t'other botanists search for that rare specie while those highly respected chemistry majors are confined to labs and test tubes. Students on their wcy to Lewis Holl to partake of o little science. Triplets in triple trouble. 20

Throwing pots is not a sign of temper . . . but a sign of ceramics skill which is not acquired easily as evidenced by the lopsided pots. This well equipped art department offers professional training in five different fields. Heading for the SUB, not for coffee, but for classes are the business students where they will master the adding machines . . . comptometers . . . typinq machines. Secretaries learn shorthand, typing, good English and office procedures . . . which include managing the office and boss. Food thermometers . . . gauges . . . gadgets . . . prerequisites to cooking after a degree in Home Economics. Subject to various comments as to the worth of being a Home Economist these girls prove themselves capable of not only cooking but conquering chemistry. MRS degrees . . . and professional degrees offer unlimited opportunities in this growing field. This division of Household and Applied Arts offers a practical foundation for specialized study in one of these three fields. Atten - - - - tion! Forward march . . . these tew words lack the all important voice inflection and are only a part of the well balanced program those enrolled in Military Science receive. Uniforms . . . and Friday afternoons at 1:00 ... the Regular Army and Air Force men perform. Future nurses receive preliminary training at M.S.C. and head lor Butte, Billings, or Great Fails to receive further training and Caps. The P.E. majors take a lot of ribbing about tank suits . . . and muscles . . . but after four years schooling they are well qualified to enter physical education departments as teachers and coaches. With this scientific knowledge in hand these students will aptly fill the positions in this field. Frog boffles 200 students. VAe Science Majete 21
