February, 1944 New York 132 E. 38th St Students of Montana State College: I remember with great pleasure my visit to Montana State College and am very happy and privileged to make this dedication: We live in a time when we of America can greatly influence the course of human history. The greatest responsibility falls upon the adult youth of our na-tion--those in the Colleges and Universities and those who are now fighting and will soon, one hopes, have an important voice in the shaping of the Peace. The basic Principles are clear—the decisive one— the indivisibility of Freedom. All men, including the hitherto oppressed, have been promised a greater measure of liberty and the opportunities for a richer life. I would dedicate myself ar.d hope that these students would dedicate themselves to working toward such a realizeable ideal.
