It all started again with F reshman Orientation. The first week became more than academic and informative meetings. Courses were chosen, but more important, the transition into the “college sub-culture was made l or many, moving into the dorm had meant meeting people. Because adjustments were shared, the initial doubts vanished into smiles, f rom anticipation, a sense of acceptance started to grow. I all quarter was an experiment in living. Activities which encouraged communication included traditions Night, welcomings. dorm meetings, an All-Campus Picnic and a dance. All these facets of campus life were encountered during fall quarter, from the SUB mystique (morning coffee, cards, music, and talk), to Saga food (potatoes and gravy, jello and grapefruit), and from 2:00 a.m. popcorn parties to keggers.

Classes and studying started despite the Indian summer weather. The library was often crowded Tests and term papers were inevitable, and everyone had them due during the same week hall quarter provided an academic climate hut everyone needs a break sometime Some took the opportunity to “relax and turn on as TRIAD presented “BADF INGI R Others tuned in to the world outside campus by attending lectures by Women's 1 iber-ation advocates or political satirist.
