What we think the West was: the smiling saloon girl with leg and garter exposed, the Western woman— homely but wholesome, the gunman demonstrating his draw, the grinning but calculating poker players, the occassional top-hatted gentleman, the moustached cava-lero, the pretty Indian maiden, and the fierce Indian chiefs (Those above, though, seem strangely tranquil.) The Amusement. . Deputy David E. Nelson and Sheriff Jerry Mueller detect a villain. . . . However. Loose Lip. Walter Graf, soon returns to his smiling saloon girl and verbose bottle.

TRADITIONS DAY Traditions Day this year captured the spirit of Eastern’s Western Frontier. It captured unrestrained competition in the bicycle races and the tug-o-war, and it captured pride in the shining of the victory bell. Elaine Purcell adds to the ‘glow’—the aspiration—of the victory bell.
