Regate High School play, The Man With His Heart in The Highlands by William Saroyan, was directed by Charles Bilyeu of Idaho State College at festival. Dramatists Present Diversified Fare Eastern's Drama Department presented varied theatrical fare during 1961-'62, ranging from musical to medieval plays and the High School Play Festival. The Male Animal by James Thurber was staged during Fall Quarter. The first arena style production at Eastern was welcomed enthusiastically. Costumes are examined by high school guests and EMC students John Mullen and Wayne Gloege at right. Twelve schools took part in the 13th annual High School Play Festival. Productions by the schools, critiques, and workshops in acting, directing, make-up and lighting were included. Student - directed one-act plays were also staged during Fall Quarter. A Cast of GO persons presented Wonderful Town, based on the Broadway version of My Sister Eileen. TheDivisionof Humanities sponsored the Winter Quarter event. The Decade of Drama started at Eastern in the 1961 Spring Quarter was continued with a Medieval play this year.
