Eastern Begins Construction Of Physical Education Building Construction of a $1V4 million physical education building for the Eastern Montana College of Education campus began in February, following the award of contracts to three Billings firms by the University of Montana Board of Regents. The building, scheduled for completion by fall quarter of 1961, is being constructed on the east side of No. 27th St., on the site of the old practice athletic field. Overall dimensions of the building will be 227 feet by 217 feet. The structure will contain a regulation National Collegiate Athletic Association swimming pool, a gymnasium with a seating capacity of 4,000, offices for members of the physical education faculty, classrooms, two concession units, dressing rooms for faculty members, locker rooms for men and women students, a dancing room, two activity rooms and a handball court. 6
