t)edica tion Professor William Hoheisel Professor Oliver Peterson In appreciation for many years of enlightened service to Eastern, the 1958 Rimrock is dedicated to Professor Oliver Peterson and Professor William Hoheisel. These men have made vast contributions to their fields as well as to the many students who have studied under their direction. Not only have they contributed to the culture and educational enlightenment of the students of Eastern, they are both noted for their contributions to the community of Billings and the state of Montana. Eastern students have been fortunate in having Mr. Peterson and Mr. Hoheisel to assist them and hope that future students will continue to have this privilege. Mr. Hoheisel has introduced a multitude of students to the field of science. He has helped students and people of the Midland Empire to open their eyes and observe the wonders of nature that surround them in their environment. His work with the Audubon Society and the Boy Scouts of America is applauded by the college and the community. In the field of mathematics, Mr. Peterson has struggled with prospective engineers, teachers, geologists, and other students, helping them gain the proper perspective to pursue their objectives. In the field of education, he has provided guidance for prospective teachers, and professional educational personnel throughout the state of Montana and the nation. He has served as one of the eleven directors of the National Education Association and for many years was a director of the Montana Education Association. Many times, the work of these two men has been accomplished quietly, without a word of thanks. Therefore, the students of Eastern Montana College of Education take this opportunity to express their heartfelt gratitude for a job well done. To Professor Oliver Peterson and Professor William Hoheisel, we dedicate this annual. PAGE 23
