A COSMOPOLITAN STUDENT BODY Eastern’s student body is indeed a cosmopolitan group. In it aie many former h gh school leaders, such as valedictorians, salutatorians, student body presidents. Key Club members, and a large number of high school class officers, high school paper and yearbook editors During the 1956-57 year. 15 states and five foreign countries were represented in the student body. RELIGIOUS EMPHASIS ON CAMPUS The important place of religion in the life of the college student is recognized by Eastern students and faculty. A reception held last fall introduced students to the ministers of billings. Religious Emphasis Week, also an event of the year, is looked forward to by the students. Members of the student body attend churches of their own denomination in the city. There are 58 denominational groups in Billings. PROGRAM FOR ATHLETES The athletic program at Eastern is designed to tram fine qualities in its athletes. The participants of the major sports of the college are also outstanding students academically and rank high as student leaders on the campus. The Yellowjackets of Eastern are a first-division team in football, basketball, baseball and track. The fighting spirit and stinging power of the Yellowjackets make them one of the most feared opponents of any collegiate conference athletic group. )

COUNSELING Students frequent the Counseling Center for help in arranging courses of study when personal problems arise, when they meet with problems in regard to the program of studies they are pursuing, when they meet with financial difficulties, or with many other problems which seem to follow college students wherever they go. TESTING Tests are given to Eastern students who desire them to help in planning their courses of studies, to determine the fields in which they would make the best success in life, for selective service, and fur many other purposes. The General Education test is also given in the testing center for people who have reached the age of 21 and desire to take college work but have not graduated from high school PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT A student here tills out an application with the secretary of the Lean ot Personnel Services for part-time employment on the campus and in business establishments within the city. Over sixty per cent of the students at the college have had part-time employment during the present year. REGISTRAR S OFFICE Many students find help at the Registrar’s Of-lice with problems of transfer, in clarification of veteran’s benefits, and in evaluation of credits toward the curriculum which they are following.
