Yesterday Where did it go? Time passes so swiftly, yet changes us so. Our high school days began September third on what we believed to be the hottest day of the season. Orien- tation was on this day and we were greeted by the cheer- leaders of Mont Pleasant. Here we were again, start- ing a new school and getting lost. Our dean for our Sophmore year was Mr. Reid White. The executive committee consisted of Jolie Gray, Treasurer, Tom Metzold, Sergeant at Arms, Lynn La- Freniere, Corresponding Secretary, Chris Nardi, Sec- retary, Debbie Maczynski, Vice President and Speaker, Carl Calabria. Being our first year at Mont Pleasant, we were depend- ing on our varsity football players for a victory over Linton and we lost. Our class was planning a trip to the capital of our nation, Washington, D.C. To finance this potential highlight of the year we sold bulletin boards. This pro- ject was moderately successful but there was still an insufficient amount of funds to finance this trip. Our junior year started off with a Friday night concert featuring Fox-Fire. This event was sponsored by the Student Board. The big football game of the year was played on our field against the cross-city rival, Lin- ton. Even though our spirits were high, outside was a different story. It was a very wet and dreary day. The great victor, Doc Holoday, won the game for us in a matter of seconds. The game ended with a 12-8 Mont Pleasant victory. Our basketball team with juniors, Albert Johnson, Tim Frame, James Sydnor, John Isabella and Tom Mott de- feated the Linton Devils for the first time in history at Linton. The drama club presented many successful plays, one of which was Dark of the Moon. Our Junior year class officers were Carol Piotrowski, President, Chris Nardi, Vice President, Dorothy Severino, Treasurer and Sue Dunn, Secretary. The class deans for our Junior year was Mr. Coton and Miss Reimer. Our Senior year started off, or did it? We reported for the first day of school without a full staff of teachers. The teachers strike, which lasted for fourteen days, ended in a teeth-pulling compromise. Classes during the strike were not worth going to. It really felt good to get into the swing of things again on the sixteenth day. Our Senior class officers were, President Carol Piotrow- ski, Vice-President, Patty Bowers, Secretary, Kim Teta, and Treasurer, Patty Hiller. Mont Pleasant You’ve changed us so Our three years are gone, but where did they go? Who says you can only smoke in the parking lot? Another swinging Christmas party. Who spiked the Hi-C? 19

Class Of ’76 Dedication Susan Zanta 1958-1974 In Memory of Susan Zanta No light, even the brightest star in the sky, could sparkle like Susan, nor could the sun bring more warmth to the hearts of those who loved her. She walked through life with a kind of open heart caring for people no matter who they were, and her laughter shined bright spreading joy, happiness and love. Time passes quickly and the same with our memories, but the memory of Susan will forever be with us. 18 Karen Smith
