Beginning this year, the English Department offers each upper class- man the opportunity to choose a field of study ranging from drama and world literature to rhetoric and philosophy. The Social Studies Department continues to strive for increased in- ternational understanding and to pre- sent a comprehensive view of a pro- gram tailored to the belief that suc- cessful democratic government de- pends on intelligent citizenship. This year, the Science Department has been partially refurbished, two rooms having been renovated with new desks, tables, and laboratory equipment to assist every student in keeping abreast of the rapidly chang- ing scene in the Scientific world. The Mathematics Department also continues to offer every student at Mont Pleasant the widest, possible variety of content, each course de- signed to teach students to better understandthe concepts of practical mathematics. ' Mont Pleasant's Language Depart- ment, is also equipped with modern facilities for mastering the language of one's choice, and for exploring various ways- of life, of people from other countries. With a broad academic spectrum offered in many areas, every student is given the opportunity to achieve academic excellence!
