During his fifteen years at Mont Pleasant, Mr. Dougherty sponsored the Hi-Y Club, an af- filiate of the YMCA. He was also a well known figure throughout New York State for his work with the Sons of the American Revolution, of which organization he is a past president. He is also a historian of considerable emi- nence being especially well versed in Colonial and Revolu- tionary lore.
