Mr. Joseph Collins. Principal foundation of the tree The roots of any tree must be firm and strong to support the trunk from which stem the branch- es and fruit. So also is this true of our Tree of Success. Its roots are firm and strong, being planted on the fertile 9oil of Mont Pleasant High School. These main anchors, producing the foundation of our Education Tree are praiseworthy men: Mr. Joseph Collins, our prin- cipal; Mr. Jack Hickey and Mr. Fred Dutcher, our assistant prin- cipals; and Mr. Joseph Zizzi, our assistant principal and head of the Technical Department. Mr. Hickey, along with our newly appointed additional assist- ant principal, Mr. Dutcher, have jobs which include problems of individual scheduling, attendance, and general student body super- vision. As chairman of the Tech- nical Department, Mr. Zizzi’s work closely follows that of Mr. Hickey and Mr. Dutcher. In addition, all three of these men, in conjunc- tion with the principal, supervise our academic growth to the future as they work continuously to strengthen and nourish our Tree of Success. As the students of Mont Pleas- ant High School mature into young responsible adults, these men, along with the Guidance De- partment and the Faculty, continue to give support and encourage- ment—thus bringing to fruition yet another harvest to sustain the America of tomorrow. 8
