We 'Dedicate It has been truly said that institutions are the embodi- ment of their creators, mirrors of enduring quality which eternally reflect the human warmth and dignity of their oc- cupants. Thus are bom tradition and wealth of heritage. It is, therefore, with mixed emotion that we create this farewell dedication to three stalwart educators, each a giant in individual fields, faculty members whose combined serv- ice totals nearly a century. When Mont Pleasant’s doors opened to receive its first students in 1931, one of our librarians, Miss Eleanor Clark, was here to welcome them. And throughout the ensuing years she has continued to be a devoted friend to students, alumni, and faculty alike as well as a researcher and his- torian in the best traditions of her profession. It is, there- fore, with a deep abiding affection that we say, “Thank you. Miss Clark, for choosing to dedicate a glorious career to Mont Pleasant High.’ Another jewel is being removed from our diadem in the departure of Miss Ruth Starr, second in tenure only to Miss Clark, for Miss Starr’s contributions to Mont Pleasant High School far exceeded her professional duties as a teacher in Business Education. An indefatigable worker, she has given unstintingly of herself not only to the cause of education but in the interests of humanitarianism as well, the latter so patently demonstrated in two years of service with the American Red Cross during World War II. For all the splendid virtues which you personify, we shall miss you, Miss Starr. Finally we pay tribute to a scientist and teacher, one in- deed “For whom the bells tolled”, for when hell schedules went awry, clocks refused to function properly or lighting circuits failed, it was that electronics detective, Mr. Samuel Ringland, to the rescue. And could we but inventory the sick radios and the myriad household appliances which over a quarter of a century he has returned to a sound and pris- tine health, they would span the globe. All this, and mag- nificent teaching too. Our regret at your retirement, Mr. Ringland, is assuaged by the grateful memories although you have left a void difficult to fill. And so, to two gracious ladies and a splendid gentleman our blessings and our gratitude. Come back often to relive the green years of accomplishment, for we love each one of you so very, very much! Miss Ruth Starr Mr. Samuel Ringland
