HF' 'K- HY The first meeting of the Lonson H1 Y was held on September 13, 1950 At this meeting the officers elected were Pre ident, Wdward Benvenuti, Vice President, Robert Foisy, Secretary, Robert Sullivan, Treasurer, Alec Lolas Sergeant at Arms, Harold Carpenter At the next meeting the new members were formally initiated into the club New members included Andrew Lon Robert Aldrich, George Cody, Jarren kizen, James lcCarron, Raymond Makara, David Ynipht, Victor Rivard, Carl Scott, Leonard Farquhar, Louis Jacobs, and Robert Beaulieu, The old members are Edward Benvenuti, Henry Cady, Harold Carpenter, Robert Foisy, Henry Gauthier, Gerald Haley, Albert Jacobs, Robert Jacobs, Alec Lolas, Roger Pascale, and Robert Sullivan. The club sponsored several activities including a hay ride, the sale of Christmas cards, and a trip to a profes- sional basketball game in Boston. The club also drew up an amendment to a state law regarding physical education in the high school which is being presented to the student legisla- ture at the Annual Youth and Government Day Assembly in Springfield.

A number of boys from the seventh and eighth grades became members and are sure to be helpful to the group in the years to c0meo Our spring plans include a proposed big-league base- ball trip.
