When Mr. Blood called for a meeting in September, some thirty interested students attended. Out of this meeting came the new Monson Academy Band. One weekly rehearsal has brought us to the point where we have been able to make seve- ral public appearances including a concert for the students of Piscataquis Community High School. Monson Academy was represented at the Penquis Festivals held in Greenville March 29 and Dover-Foxcroft May 3 for the first time. Those who played in the composite band from our school were: Trumpets, Lolly Jacobson, Cindy Forbus and Paul Falconer. Saxophonesg Parker Hall, Gayle Towne and Carol Johnson, Bass Horn, Herman Drugge. Not only was the experience gained extremely valuable, but the good time had by all will long be remembered. We hope that this marks the beginning of our organization which will grow to become one of great importance to us all in our school life. Mr. Feero: 'Can you give an example of wasted effort?'
