THE J V BASKETBALL TEAM The Junlor varslty Basketball comblre wound up tne regular season undefeated, w1th the lmpresslve record of nlne wlns agalnst no setbacks Coach san nowell molded together a strong qulntet composed of Bob Green nan James, EQ Foley, Jael bwenson and Art 'lune Vlrtually ro1l1ng over all opposltlon, the J V Basketeers comblned a fast break, flne set- SHOOtlHb and plenty of nelght to plle up 352 po nts, as agalnst 280 ior thelr opponent nlgh scorers ior thls powerhouse were Bob Green and Dan James who garnered 88 and 86 polnts respectlvely Ed Foley and Jack bwenson were also reatly responslble for the tean's scorlng punch H0Op1Dg lO8 dlglts between them Much of the credlt must also be glven to Mr Hovell who inaugurated hls flr t season as a basketball coach ln the proper fashlon THE J J V BADKETBALL TEAM engoyment and, although they were unable to wln any of thelr games many valuable polnters were plcked up by everyone on the club Aldlng the younger fellow' on tue pollshed courts were a group of older boys who comblned fO0tOall and basketball every aiternoon at 2 35 THE CRODS COUNTRY TLAL The Academy harrlers, captalned by Bob Carpenter and sparked by Ray Pauze and John Voods, gave a flne account of thenselve 1n all of thelr meets Although they never took wlnners' laurels, thls group, coached by L R. Howell, galned excellent experlence and ran second to none ln thelr abundance of Splrlt THE HOCKEY TEAM The Hockey Team, led by the versatlle Rlch Golden, engoyed a successiul season even though the lack of 1ce caused a number of games to be w1ped off the schedule Under the au plces of ooach Bus Reed, the puckmen Journeyed to QllDtOH, Nev York, to take part 1n the preparatory school hockey tournament sponsored by Hamllton tollege W.ll1ston was readlly defeated by the Monsonites, but two successlve defeats at the hands of Nestmlnster and Mt Herman schools put the team 1n a tle for thlrd place honors Sharlng the spotllght wlth Golden were Blll Mack and Jav LaGasse, who carrled the offenslve burden, wnlle Henry Paszko, Jerry McGarte and Andy Townend were the key men on the defense. 0 0 ' : X A ' A 1 . .... . . , . ,,.
