Holmes deeded to the Trustees of Monson Academy, Morris House, and gave a generous sum of money to make this frame structure com- pletely modern. The remodelling was done and the dwelling has made an ideal place for living this last year. The edifice itself has more of the appearances of a home than do structures built originally for dormitory purposes. The truth remains that more is required for a pleas- ant living abode than four walls-no matter how beautiful they may be. The spirits within make the allfimportant contribution. They must be congenial and willing to cooperate, and so they have been this last year in Morris House. There have been small disagreements. Such are to be expected. No stratum of society is without them. We all realize that certain sensitive spots must be touched occasionally in the ordinary routine and that certain restrictions are necessary for the provision of the right at- mosphere of periodic study. In a nutshell, ten Seniors, a bachelor master, and a newly married master in his apartment on the first floor, during the school year of 1928-29 have used this quaint old house on the hill as the place of all trades-studying, yarning, and playing the usual games, and will no doubt have many happy reminiscences of it in the future.
