He earned his B.A. in History from Fordham University and his M.A. in American History from the University of Virginia. Mr. Fischer has been at Farrell for three years and in his spare time enjoys reading and running. 22 Brother Jeffrey W. Oxx, CFC. Brother Oxx, the Chairman of the Social Studies Department, teaches European Culture and All European History. He earned his B.A. from Iona College and his M.A. from St. J ohn's University. Brother is now completing his seventh year at Farrell and previously taught at St. Cecilia's Grammar School in East Harlem, N.Y. He mo- derates the Varsity football team, coaches the Junior Varsity basket- ball team, and is the Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach. He enjoys racquetball, reading, listening to music and following sports. Brother Oxx's favorite quote is Imagination is more important than knowl- edge from Albert Einstien. ST DIES mM sN,rs Mr. John Orlowski - In Mr. Orlowski's sixth year at Farrell he continues to teach Afro- Asian History to our freshmen. For several years Mr. Orlowski taught senior electives in Justice and Chinese. Mr. Orlowski is very exper- ienced in these areas, having a B.A. in History and an M.A. in Chinese Studies. Mr. Orlowski does a fine job as the moderator of photo staff and photo club. Some of his interests include photography and tennis.

l 'ff-QQ! N fir X F J Father Ralph A. Villani Father Villani has taught every level of Italian in his six years at Farrell. Father holds a B.A. in classical languages from St. Joseph's Seminary, an S.T.L. in Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian Uni- versity in Rome and an Ed.M. in Italian from Rutgers University. Father Villani moderates the Farrell I.T.V Club and the Italian Club. As often as possible, he enjoys opera, classical music and travel. Brother Henry Wright Brother has been at Farrell for eight years. In this time he has taught all levels of French. For the past several years Brother Wright has made up the entire French department at Farrell. Many other schools have benefited from Brother's presence including St. Pa- trick's Hall, Brother Rice H.S., Cardinal Farley Military Acd., Holy Cross, Blessed Sacrament H.S., Essex Catholic H.S., Bishop Hen- dricken H.S. He has a B.A. from Iona, an M.A. from Seton Hall and a Certificat de la langue francaise from the Sorbonne in Paris. Brother moderates the golf team, bowling intramurals and the French club. He lists reading, good music and golf as his interests. 'Z' 3, iSMYiE'sX23.E Mrs. Linda Masi Mrs. Masi teaches Spanish and Italian in her second year at Farrell. Mrs. Masi's degrees include a B.A. from Pace University and an M.A. from New York University. She has also taught at St. Savior H.S. Mrs. Masi moderates the drama club. Theater and music are at the top of Mrs. Masi's list of interests. You are only here onceq therefore give, absorb, and receive all that life may offer. 1 Nicole atm c Brother J. R. Catalano, CFC. This is Brother 's first year at Farrell. He has previously taught for fourteen years and holds a B.A. and an M.A. in English, Italian and special education. Brother teaches Italian to sophomores and both English and English Honors to juniors. He moderates the frosh cross- country track team and the Italian club. His many special interests include the opera, drama and travel. Brother attests to the belief that All things are providentialf' 21

2' H, aw W ,- 7 Mrs. Nancy Marotta Mrs. Marotta has been at Farrell for two years. In this time she has taught European history to sophomores. Mrs. Marotta has a B.A. in history from Notre Dame College. The war games club is proud to be represented by Mrs. Marotta, the club's new moderator. She lists her interests as needlework, bicycle riding and foreign movies. Mrs. Mar- otta enjoys sharing these interests with her husband and two children. Mr. Jack Gordon Mr. Gordon is one of the many new additions to Farrell this year. Mr. Gordon teaches Afro-Asian studies to freshman and American studies to juniors. He has a B.A. in history and has done graduate work in criminal justice and creative writing. Mr. Gordon has also taught at the Highland Occupational Center. ,Ali -.'... all Mr. Paul Ward Mr. Ward has added new depth to Farrell's social studies department. In his first year at Farrell Mr. Ward teaches two new senior electives in American political science and sociology and American studies to ju- niors. His degrees include a B.A. and an M.A. in history. Mr. Ward has also taught at St. Nicholas ofTolentine H.S. and Paramus Catholic Boys H.S. Mr. Ward's wife's name is Christine and they have two daughters. Jennifer and Nancy. Mr. Ward enjoys current events especially politics. ff ia Mr. George C. Kochman This marks Mr. Kochman's seventeenth year teaching at Farrell. His duties this year included teaching American studies to juniors and teaching a senior elective in Economics. Before coming to Farrell Mr. Kochman taught at St. Joseph's H.S. in New Jersey. His degrees includ- ed an A.B. and an M.A. in history and Mr. Kochman is working toward a second M.A. as a media specialist. In his spare time Mr. Kochman is the coach of the Wagner College cross country and track teams and enjoys sports, reading and good food. 23
