The 1981-82 season saw the continuing success of the Varsity Ice Lions under the reign of Coach Paul Mazza. The team fin- ished with its best record in three years Q8- 7-4j, good enough for third place in its divi- sion and a playoff berth. The team was led on and off the ice by captain Mark Torre, and assistants Jim Healy and Paul Mazza. This season proved that the Lions are a team to contend with as they displayed a well rounded attack. Paul Mazza was the offensive force leading the team, and the league, in scoring. Backboned by the dynamic Torre, who not only was one of the leagues best defenders but also ranked in the top ten in scoring, the defense was the nucleus of this winning season. When Torre wasn't doing the job, the Disco Defense was. Chris Buneo, another freshmen stand- out, teamed up with durable Gary Drake Cmaster of the hip checkj to form this amazing duo. 4 , z In goal this year was veteran Jim Healy. Turning in his finest year, Heals was named the leagues' outstanding goal- tender. The team was also supported by excel- lent seasons from seniors Charlie Fuds Fodera, Frank X Powers and Juniors, Dean Roberts, Tom Earl -McMahon and Vic Licatese. Surprising efforts came from lst year players Bobby Consola, Larry Smith, John Breakaway Maschenic, Tim Schiebel and Jim Rielly. Special congratulations are offered to Torre, Mazza, and Healy for being named S.I.I.H.A. First Team All-Stars.

McNally, J. Mulvey, V. Lorenzo. 202 J- E The J .V Hockey came into existence this year, and compiled a record of 4-4-1. The team was captained by Phil Miceli who was the starting Goalie most of the season. His replacement was Scott Johnston and in front of them on defense was Richie Abel. Starting on the offense and responsible for most of the teams goals were centers Victor Lorenzo, and John fMarvel- ousj Mulvey and winger Robert Rocco. In all, the team saw a fine first season and many of the players hope to see varsity action next year.
