This August found a new set of Freshmen eager to follow in the winning Farrell Football Tradition. Be- hind new coaches, the team started off the season with a win over Holy Family and carried on the winning ways up to the last game of the regular season. This gave them a shot in the playoffs but that hope was crushed in the highest scoring game of the season. The offense, which amassed a total of 102 points was led by running back Robert Ogno behind a solid line led by Al Guddemi. The defense was led by three solid players in Diauto, Bernhardt and DiTomasso. After this fine season, we look for great things in the years to come. Q Wx Au V The Varsity Soccer Team completed their third undefeated season. The team did great against local competition going unbeaten, untied and even un- scored upon, until the last game against St. Jo- seph's but they pulled it out 4-3. Eddie Hynes cap- tained the team and led the scoring and now reigns as all-time scoring leader at Farrell with 52 goals over a 4 season period. Overall, they were 9-5-3. Sean Kavanagh was a tower of strength in the sweeper position and is largely responsible for low scoring of opponents. Greg Skinner had nine goals and will be returning next season. Two players share the goal keeping duties, Matt Schwartz and Jim Rielly and both will be back next season. Our defense of Jeff Ward, Nick Turkovic. Tommy Gough and Dave Lorenzo was quite reliable and will be stronger next year. Helping to fill the gaps were Tony Imbriolo and Andy Lombardo. The middle line of Greg Felbarg, Jim Catalano and Ed Jordan was the strongest unit and helped the forward line of Karl-David Cantarella, Eddie Hynes and Greg Skin- ner. Utility man, Keith Zinzley, filled in at many positions and will be missed through graduation. Coach Hynes looks forward to another undefeated season next year.
