Coming off a winning season as freshmen the J.V opened the season with a strong win over Totten- ville. As the season went on the winning ways were slowed but never stopped until the last regular sea- son game against St. Francis Prep. This offensive power house was led by the fine line of Gary Romes, J. Baker and C. Guddemi blocking for quarterback Steve Villano, and running backs J. Nicotra, and Richie Hefferon. J. Mazzella, C. Ventresca led the reception category. On the defensive side R. Pinto and K. Friberg charged the line while the backfield was led by J. Baker, R. Natalicchio, S. Bacci, and R. Hefferon. Team captains were Joe Baker and Gary Romeo with Charlie Goddemi heading the special teams. The starting moments of the season were brought about by Richie Hefferon 1102 yd. kick off return J, Charlie Guddemi fblock a punt for a touch- downj and Steve Bacci finterception and run back 45 yd. for a TD.J This team looks forward to great think on the varsity next year. 178
