Football ---gu1h'ea' 011295785 ITS IN THE AIR!-Jack Levi and Mike Facciolo are pic- tured here for the pre-game toss. It was their leadership which helped Bonner capture both the Catholic League and City Championships. Jack Levi was elected to the coaches' All-Catholic team, the All-East Delco team, All-Scholastic team. He received honorable mention on the All-State team. Mike Facciolo was conspicuous in the City Title game, in which hc intercepted two passes, thus earning the Most Valuable Player Award. The 1961 football squad, a compact ver- sion of the City Champs of '59, surprised everyone hut themselves as they attained an 8-1 record. Despite their smaller size, they finished in a tie for first place with LaSalle. In the ensuing play-off they de- feated a tough LaSalle team, 13-7, and thus represented the Catholic League in the City Title game. There they further distin- guished themselves hy heating Southern, 20-13. This victory gained for Bonner its second City Championship within three years.
