UW, W NIM NO' WAY TO STOP IT-The cham- pionships, that is, when this foursome gets together on the green. Composed of Seniors with three years appren- ticeship under the watchful eye of Fr. Dreger, the linksmen promise a cham- pionship. Pictured here are: fleft to rightj J. Klein, Fr. Dreger, F. Booth, and C. O'Donnell. WITH A LITTLE BIT OF LUCK and plenty of practice, J. Klein has become adept atqsink- ing those all-important putts. On the green, the men are separated from the boys and the Friars take- away every opportunity to perfect their putting skills. The spotlight shines brightly on the '4Masters of the F riars' golf team. Keeping up to par is an easy assignment for the linksmen of Bonner. Directed by Father Dreger, these boys learned the fundamentals quickly and progressed rapidly in the game. Heading the parade of stars this year are: C. O'Donnell, T. Lallone, J. Young, J. Klein and F. Booth. TEE FOR TWO -- But no tee and no ball -just a pair of clubs to swing around. Jim Young and Tom Lallone get into shape before the season opens. These two Seniors have the experience necessary for a top-notch team.

SHRIMP BOATS-Size makes little difference in this nimble-footed game. Coach Lou Piacelli offers a pointer to Freshman Pat Taggart. This aid given by the coach helped Pat to be named Rookie of the Year. EWIIY RIMA' M41 Although not a spectacular perform- ance, the '61 Soccer season, like a bad dress rehearsal, gives us hope for a good show next year. Their 2-1-9 record of this season is brightened by the fact that most of their losses were hard fought battles in which the Booters were edged out by a single goal. The versatility exhibited by Earl Fisher merited him the most Valuable Player Award. John Mulholland earned a spot on the All-Catholic Squad and Freshman Pat Taggart received Rookie of the Year award. Coach Lou Piacelli and moderator Fr. Nowlan, pleased with the present progress of the squad, visu- alize hetter things in the near future. I GET A KICK OUT OF YOU - Soccer balls get plent of kicks when Maurice Cox is around. For the secon straight year he led the team in scoring. Watching hi are: E. Fisher, R. Woods and J. Shields.

DOWN BY THE RIVERSIDE is where the crew meets daily for its practice sessions. Neither rain nor sleet nor snow could keep these oarsmen from making their bid for a spot on the varsity eightf' Mr. Mattson fstandingl carefully and skillfully selects the boys with the most spirit and talent. Down at the Schuylkill Playhouse the crew team presents their annual water festi- val. Skipper George Mattson whips up the enthusiasm of his troupe to row down their mirrored stage. The return of a victorious .I.V. team, promises to turn the tide for this year's up-and-coming varsity. The smooth stroking comes through long hours of stren- uous navigation on the rippling river. Tem- perature and weather conditions introduce hardships during early practice. Chris Mattson, by reason of his fully ripened talent and consistent effort was pre- eminent this year. With long awaited hopes the unit feels sure it will furnished another trophy for Bonner. pp pn- tgtr E we iff' 45 mm ,Q as using 5 ,M i V ,A,, Jszgg l zl ,L i'L'eVN V ., ima.. i'r' ...t:t.
