WM KWH WI IIFMLIXV IT AIN'T NECESSARILY SO-Fr. Doran, moderator of the de- bating team, corrects Ed Leahy's approach to the subject, as Bill Koch, Mr. Charles Vogel, Bill Manfredi, and Mr. John Rao listen attentively. The Debating Society, under the directorship of Fr. Doran, O.S.A., assisted hy Mr. Charles Vogel and Mr. John Rao, has taken giant steps towards the realization of its potentialities in the powers of eloquent writing and speech. The list of their successes is a measure of their ex- panding abilities. Taking part in the Bonner Invitational, the St. Joseph's College, the St. Peter's College and Fordham Tournaments, the Austins delivered their ideas with clarity and conviction. Once again, they have placed Bon- ner among the prominent members of the for- ensic league. AC-CENT-TCHU-ATE THE- POSITIVE-And when the Austins have the positive, you can be sure that they readily eliminate the negative. We present the ,6l version of the Austins: fseatedl Ed Leahy, Mr. John Rao, Fr. 'tnwiff . xi 45 nw MUSIC! MUSIC! MUSIC-The 1961 version of the Monsignor Bonner Marching Band halt at attention following the finale of one of their intricate drills. 'YIIIAYIU XII Without A Song the day would never end. At least for the Bonner hand member no day ever ends without his hour or two of practice. But that faithful practice is what has made the Bonner Band famous in the area. It is well known not only for music hut also for its well executed precision drills and its uspit and polish military appearance. As a reward for their devotion to music, the band members were asked to represent Oregon State this year at the Liberty Bowl in Philadelphia. This distinction was awarded to the Bonner Band after placing third in the All-Catholic competition.
