Phil was once more undefeated in the League in his specialty, the 100-yard Butterfly. The Friar lnermen wrote another glorious chapter in the annals of Bonner prowess on the sea. A glance at the log book for 1959 reveals that the victors this year returned home with an unblemishcd record- -- a clean sweep of the Catholic League and a resounding final blow in the defeat of Northeast Public for the City Championship. Posting a 10-0 record in the Catholic League this year, the Friar mar- iners have an enviable two-year record. Relying principally on a bench full of young, talented, and highly-touted undcrclassmen, the Friars, because of this depth of talent, were able to defeat Northeast by the decisive tally of 51-35. Russ Harlan had a banner first year as Bonner's swimming coach and he has built well for thc future. Sopho- mores and Juniors set new school records this year and the underclass- men seem perfectly capable of carrying on a tradition of championship swimming at Bonner. p c - . li P 6' Ii by A-- ,.p A I ,NIH5 QNIIFI
