During his thirty-three years as teacher and administrator at Monrovia High School, Super- intendent Stanley C. McCIintic has seen the campus grow from ci one-building plant to an educational institution accommodating students from three communities--Monrovia, Arcadia and Duarte--and back to a one-community high school with an enrollment of 2000. Arriving from the Sacramento Valley, where he and his father grew up as native Californians, Mr. McClintic in September of 1928 assumed the role of principal of adult education and three years later took on the added responsibilities of teaching in the humanities. His thirst for knowledge was not satiated while attending the University of California at Berkeley, Boston University, Stanford, and the University of Southern California, where he re- ceived his master's degree. He continues to be interested in dramatics, concerts, history and things cultural. Balancing this academic inter- est is his love of tennis and badminton, fishing and gardening, bowling and golfing. In addi- tion to his busy teaching schedule and admin- istrative duties, he has found time during the years to sponsor debating, athletic, dramatic and Boy Scout activities. For your kindly and ever-present interest in our welfare, we, the students of Monrovia High School, respectfully dedicate this 1961 edition of the MONROVIAN, with heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to you, Stanley C. McClintic.
