MRS. MARION PORTWOOD, secretary to Mr. McCIintic, carries on her duties in the Superintendent's Office. This charming lady's duties include attending all board meetings and taking minutes. She han- dles all incoming and outgoing mail. Through this office Mrs, Portwood assists in hiring all help for the district. Al- though she has no direct contact with most of the students, many of our school functions run smoothly because of her. Be- sides sending transcripts to colleges and other high schools, mailing unsatisfactory notices, and recording grades, these two kept the permanent records of all the students up-to-date.

,- ,, THIS WAS Mr. Robert Long's big and busy year at school as he fulfilled the duties of his new administrative post, Director of Research. He continued to serve as chairman ofthe school's Math- ematics Department. Mr. Long worked at counselling and programming students, scheduling group tests, and interpreting test results. He took charge of co-ordin- ating the More Capable Learner pro- gram, consisting of special accelerated classes for students showing exceptional aptitude, and consulted with teachers and students involved in these classes. MRS. ESTELLA PETERSON h G s many varied duties, including the handling of Mr. Williamson's correspondence, mak- ing appointments, taking minutes at meetings, and setting up both student and teacher bulletins. Also, she assists in making arrangements for P.T.A. meet- ings. A yearly project for her is arrang- ing the commencement and baccalaur- eate programs. This is an important iob filled to the utmost by Mrs. Peterson. She began at this school eight years ago as switchboard operator. Three years ago she received her present iob as private secretary to Mr. Williamson. ,uf-'

i . . 1 XX CCl'6l3Iq THROUGH the past eight years Mrs. Theresa Timko has fulfilled her duties as secretary in the Girls' Counseling Office. She as- sists both Miss Foreman and Miss Cummens. Her tasks in- clude handling appointments, lunch permits, activity applica- tions and eligibility lists. They are both very busy at the moment. Counselor COUNSELOR Clytis Cummens works with many students in planning with them their course of study in terms of their aptitudes, abilities, inter- ests, and future plans. Interpreting standardized tests is one of the maior responsibilities of this well-known face on campus. And what was your grade in English? Yes, please come in. Dean of Girls GIRLS GRADUATING from M-D will remember their Dean, Miss Ruth Foreman, with fond respect.
