Their dreams to redecorate the auditorium, to install improved facilities in the gymnasiums, and to build our long-awaited swimming pool will not be re- alized until next year, but it is through their et- forts that these dreams will turn into reality. This year's club program was mentored by Lois Malone and Joe Royle. Tom Jessen, Jack Groat, and Carolyn Snyder publicized all of our games throughout the year, and Bob Cope kept the in- tramural program running smoothly. Nancy Billman, chancellor of the exchequer, and Mary Furgerson, royal scribe, kept our finances and records in excellent condition. These Madites, pooling their many talents, have done more than their part to make this one of M.A.D.'s greatest years. C.I.S.F. Calling itself the Council for the Improvement of School Facilities, a new organization made its debut on our campus this year. Composed of students as well as faculty members and towns- people, the C.I,S.F. went to work on our school needs. The findings of a detailed survey led to a March bond election. Results for the future will be improvement of existing facilities and expan- sion of courses offered. ROW I: Thomas, Ballard, Wynn, Groot. ROW 2: Sturgeon, Mr. Frank Williamson, Royle. Like our representatives in Washington, these diplomats scurry around trying to find ideas for new laws, and like all politicians, they find that lawmaking isn't an easy iob. They receive suggestions for improvement, ponder over them, and convert them into useful legislation. Their proficient leader, Pete Wynn, vice president of the Associated Student Body, assisted Bruce Ballard not only in assemblies but in C.I.S.F. planning. Three long years of wishful thoughts and now these senior boys are Monarcs at last. With their iackets of maroon and silver they are known around the campus as leaders in sports, scholarship, and popularity. In January the Madquins and Monarcs gathered for a casual party at the home of President Dick Stephens. The crowning of Dick as Madquin king and Sally Eggstaft as Monarc queen was the climax of an evening of dancing and games. Bob Alutin, vice-president, Art Kendall, secretary-treasurer, and Tom Jessen, sergeant-at-arms, together with the other boys, created a prize- winning float for the homecoming game. Editor-in-chief Mirth Kiehl and Managing Editor Mary Ellen Romney control the i952-53 'Cat's overall production by dreaming up easy as- signments. Concert Choir II sang their favorite numbers for a Thanks- giving church service, for the McKinley Home for Boys, and for many P.T.A. Club meetings.
