SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Durirg the fall of 1946, eighteen frightened, bashful first graders entered Mrs. Allen's room. When she was enrollirg us, and asking us our fathers' names, one little girl replied, We just call him daddy. Two of us got lost, and had to have our brothers find our rooms, but before the year was over all of us knew our way around, as well as how to read and print. The next year, our class was split up, half going to Mrs. Reed, and half going to Mrs.Curtis. That year we had an improvement in our reading and printing, and even learned to write. When we were in the third grade our class was back together again with Mrs. Curtis. That year we had a Rhythm Band with Zoe Ann Crowe as our leader, and we were quite proud of it. The next fall finally rolled around, and we entered Mrs. Jett's Room. The class will always remember the paper castle we made that year, and the picnic we had. In the fifth grade, our class was split-up again, some going to Mrs. Stark, and some to Mr. Finchum. That year one of the unsuspecting got an eraser thrown at her while she was telling someone an assignment Qwithout permission, so she saysl. The next year our class was back together to stay, in Mr. F inchum's room. The most outstanding thing this year was when a boy was pushed into a tub of water at our Halloween Party. His only remark as he came up smiling was, Does anyone have any dry pants? In the seventh grade, we thought we were quite grownup as we moved upstairs. We added the kids from Hall making our class somewhat larger. The teachers didn't think our cute little jokes were quite so cute as we did. By the end of the year, we learned that we were not to do certain things -- with the teachers' aid. When school started the next year, we had lost a few of our class members, but most of us were still together. Our Freshman year was great fun, especially the day we had to dodge the Seniors on our initiation day. We even combed the lawn in front of the schoolhouse with combs and scrubbed the sidewalk with toothbrushes. After our hard day's work, we had a party sponsored by the Seniors. When we were Sophomores, we ordered our class rings. Needless to say, we could hardly wait for them to come. Everyone could tell when they did arrive, because we displayed them as best we could. The Junior year finally arrived, bringing on the ordering of our class sweaters, the Prom, school paper, and many, many other activities. We presented our first class play, The Skeleton Walks, during our Junior year. Now, after twelve years of waiting, the Senior year has finally arrived, bringing us to face many new experiences -- the second class play, editing of the school paper, and annual, the trip to New York and Washington, Commencement, Graduation, and other exciting Senior activities. Our class now has twenty-nine members, some new and some old, who are looking forward to the great day, but who realize that we have so little time left in this school with all our familiar friends. As we finally board the train to the future, we will undoubtedly think back to the twelve happy and hectic years behind us, and we shall S3Y. IT WAS WORTH IT
