onrovia aptures 1st ame The Monrovia Bulldogs, after seven straight reversals, finally hit the winning trail last night. The first victim of Nels 0'Neal's boys was Stilesville, 60 to 56, in the Bulldog gym. Monrovia, after leading by six points at the half, had to fight off a stubborn Stilesville rally in the final half that saw the Bulldog lead shrink to three points by the end of the third quarter, 42 to 39. Monrovia featured a balanced scoring attack again last night, with the major difference being, that, instead of four boys having about 10 points each, they hit from 10 to 17 each. Larry Shields led the Bulldog at- tack with 17 points, and was fol- lowed by Eddie Phillips with 14, Don Ambrose with 12, and Bill Shields with 10. The Bulldogs will play at home again tonight with the Stinesville Quarry Lads coming to Monrovia to oppose the locals in a Homecom- ing game. All past lettermen will be admitted free tonight if they -wear their letter sweaters. The t-first game starts at 6:30.
