PROPHECY , The following prophecy was related to us by an unidentified person who got this weird program on her television when the set was supposed to be on the blink. The Intentional Insurance Company presents a special program of the Monrovia Class of '55 in the future year of 1965. 'I'his is your news-commentator Walter Concrete. We will step into the future tonight, into the year 1965. Our interviews of the Monrovia '55 alumni will take us all over me United States. All things are as they will be in 1965 except, ARE YOU THERE? We take you now to the vicinity of Monrovia and turn you over to our Monrovia correspondent Bill Hollaway. Come in Bill. Thanks, Walter. The sun is shining brightly today and it would be a good day for swimming but we have more important things on our mind. From where we're stationed we can see Mrs. Annice QHobsonJ Lambert and her six children. They are visiting her mother AGAIN this week. These over-drawn bank accounts do result in little quarrels NOW and THEN. Maybe the tooth- making business isn't what it used to be. Well, we do hope the Lamberts patch things up quickly. As we move farther west we see a small white house with three or four children playing in the front yard. We recognize it as the home of Dick Allen. We join Dick as he dries the last dish. Pattiel Pattiel Honey, please come in and take this chain and padlock off my leg, so I can finish the sweeping. Hurry, I don't have the children bathed yet, either. We are sorry that we cannot interview Pattie, but she is resting from her strenuous shopping trip. Our cameras turn now to the house next to Mr. and Mrs. Tom Fisher's. We will just stop for a minute because Jean and her sister are having a quarrel over which diild got dirt all over the wash. Here comes J ack to see what the commotion is about. We will leave now as he will probably be able to handle the matter for they are experts in this sort of thing. Next, we go to the home of Ray Houk, one of the great stock car drivers of Indianapolis. Ray has just arrived home from the hospital where he has been recovering from his recent crack-up??? QBy the way the ' name of his car is the Alcohol Specia1. J The nurse that has accompanied him home is Paula fSpringerJ Richardson. After so many years of carrying the torch she finally got her man. Ladies and Gentlemen, there has just been an accident at the Hadley residence. Chir field man will bring us a report as soon as possible. There is quite a bit of excitement and a large crowd is gathering. Ah! Here comes our report. Dave Hadley, the world famous ditch digger was just run over by his wife. Mr. Hadley was teaching his wife to drive. Imagine him teaching someone to drive. Again we find Paula Richardson at the soene. She tells us that Dave is not badly injured, that it is mostly shock. We take you now to fabulous New York where we find that Marvin Scott now known as The Profile is starring in M.G.M.'s latest movie, Meet Me At Ten. He is the latest heart- throb of thousands of bobby-soxers. Even the most severe critics say that he is the best voice FRANCIS has ever had. We find that there is another former Monrovia High School student living in New York. She is the great novelist Reita Long. Miss Long, who was always saying Cute Little Remarks in one of her classes and distracting certain people from their work, is now working on a great novel THE THREE MISCHIEVOUS HISTORIANS. It will be distributed all over the world. The

SENIOR CLASS HISTORY It was in the fall of '43 When we walked through the doorg The number of pupils was 23g We were met by Miss Stegemoller. There are only seven of those kids left, But we've gained that many, and more. In the first, our schedule was mighty full, The second, though, was rather dull. The third was hep: The fourth was jive. The fifth, we really got alive. They split us up by alphabet, First half to Crowe, the rest to Jet. In some girl's seat, Dave placed a tack. Allene hit Judy with a baseball bat. The rivalry was high, as we could see When Crowe's room won the spelling bee. Phe sixth was together again. We recall the tales that Finchum could spin. We got five boys on the Junior High team, They weren't too hot. but were full of steam. Then we made the jump to Highg For a sponsor, Shuler was a real swell guy. Donald Crews got a new pair of glasses, But it didn't help Breezy get to his classes. Our class got bigger then, fthat fallj When all those roughnecks came from Hall. We liked Hinshaw, nobody thought he was diPPy. And we sure did hate it when Paul moved to Mississippi. In the eighth, we made that zlg-zag joumey To go to Eminence to play in their toumey. Belle Union fell from our powerful attack. But confidentially, fliminence set us backy As freshmen, we were as green as a gourd, And weahad to keep watch for the seniors' board We had a new sponsor in '51, And Hank Tropp was a lot of fun. Our slogan was VOTE FOR JEAN, And she got it: Freshman Halloween Queen. Long bus rides didn't make us sick. We had anall day party at McCormick's Krick. As sophs, we were going up in the world. Though in Geometry class, our heads were in a whirl. Hank let the hair grow down his neck, And we got the Indian back from Tech. In the eleventh year we worked quite hard To make money on magazines and Xmas cards And a little more that would come in handy We made off ice-cream, cokes, and candy. I'm sure that none was given free Cause we had 800 bucks in our treasury, There's just 19 that will graduate And most of us can hardly wait For Brown to sign that piece of paper So we can cut our' last big caper You'll probably think that we're insane When we.climb aboard that choo-choo train But ha-ving fun is not a crime And we're going to have a grand old time. Dave Dean Hadley Reita Long

critics are expecting it to be on Broadway within a year. Miss Long still remains single. but she has a visitor now and then who also likes to write novels. As we continue through the Eastern States we enter the large metropolis of Providence, Rhode Island. To our left is a bill board that reads: Four blocks to Greene's Beauty Salon. We will stop and examine Max's new shop and maybe he will give us a few tips on how to grow long, blonde, wavy hair. Darkness is falling very rapidly now as we travel down the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Over- head the stars are beginning to appear. Say, what is that? A streak of silverish light has appeared in the sky above us. Our scientists have informed us that it is Capt. Austin Prather, World War III Flying Ace, testing the new rocket Star Dust which travels 555,000 miles per hour. We wish Mr. Prather lots of luck and I'm glad that I'm not in his shoes. We continue our journey on to West Virginia where we find Fred Graham. after getting his degree from Purdue, who is farming 650 acres using all of the scientific methods. Between his farming and his speeches at the F.F.A. conventions, he is kept pretty busy, but his red headed wife doesn't mind. Of course, Fred has to keep busy to keep up with his neighbor, Tom White. Tom farms the adjoining 700 acres without these new fangled methods and does a darn good job of it, too. Since it is getting quite late we have decided to spend the night at a motel. Much to our surprise we find that the owner of the motel is Don Crews. He also runs the adjoining Barber Shop. Only his wife, Martha, is here since Donald is in Paris getting all he latest styles in haircuts. She tells us that Donald gets quite tired of traveling with their six children since they return to their former home in Banta so much. We awakened the next morning bright and early and started our journey to Monrovia. As we entered C1110 we saw the St. Mary's of the Woods College. We noticed that the girls were practicing basketball so we decided to stay and watch them. As we walked over we saw the coach giving instructions, and he was none other then G. R. Pryor. Naturally he is still a bachelor. As we near Gasburg, we see George Worland at his Gasburg Trading Center, as he waves goodbye to the large train, The Lake Hart Special, of which his wife is engineer. U-lint, Hint.J We make our next stop about 10 miles west of Gasburg. We drive up a long, winding lane to a large mansion, which is owned by Wendell Jackson Cook I. The butler informs us that Mr. Cook will soon be down from his flight. It seems that Jack is sowing his corn by air this year. with Madam Lilly CSheetsJ Cook as co-pilot. As we enter the home of the Gore's we find that Judy is in the kitchen busily preparing dinner. They are having .Tudy's favorite againfthird time this week.J Soup II Maybe she should have taken Home Economics in college instead of Scientific Farming . We would stay for dinner but Bill is probably tired from planting beans, feven though their three kids help out quite a bit,J and we don't want to bother him. As we get to Walter Hadley's house we can see Helen kissing Walter goodbye before she leaves for work. She, is a part owner of the Hadley-Nelson T.V. Repair. Kenny Nelson is already at the shop trying to find out what is wrong with a T.V. set that just came in. ln fact, it's this set and we think there is definitely something wrong with it. Maybe Helen can fix it when she gets here. We hope so. Now that we're back on the air, we see the Senior Sponsor, Miss Cook, sitting at her desk arguing about the annual with The FAT BOY. Don't tell me that he's still around, Oops. just blew a fuse. BYYYYYYYYYY.
