Miss Elizabeth Cole served as instructor of the seventh grade speech classes, the mixed eighth and ninth grade debate class, and the ninth grade drama class. Mrs. Pat Boone taught eighth grade speech. The musical comedy You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown in November. The drama department also put on Arsenic and Old Lace during the latter part of February and studied stage make-up for nine weeks. This is a French holiday celebrated on January 6, in- stead of Christmas. On this day a man is selected to be king for the year. Cakes are made and the person who gets the piece with the trinket in it is proclaimed king for the year. Mr. John Martin discovered the trinket in his cake and was crowned not only French king, but also Monroney's king, by sponsor Miss Lela Hastey. 93
