RED CROSS PERFORMS USEFUL SERVICES The activities of the junior Red Cross are highlighted by three main projects: buying gifts for homebound students, providing Christmas favors for hospital patients, and conducting a membership drive among the student body. Representatives from each home- room comprise our MJHS student Coun- cil. It is this organization's duty to manage and to supervise the student proj- ects for the benefit and betterment of our school. One of the most successful of their projects is the annual magazine sales. Francile Stuart and Jane Ferrell chart the success of various homerooms for the benefit of Mr. Edwin Schilde, sales rep- resentative, and Mr. Tom Nolen, spon- sor. Officers for 1965 66 include Jane Ferrell president Jerry Walker vice president Debbie Tucker, secretary-treasurer, and Dixie Dixon, reporter. They are pictured at left with Mr. Tom Nolen, sponsor for the group. Assisting the counselors in such chores as working on folders, answering the phone, oper- ating the clinic, administering first aid, and running errands are these assistants in the counseling office. MISS FLAME CHOSEN In connection with National Fire Prevention Week, the Midwest City Fire Department sponsored a Miss Flame contest for the first time this year. Monroney eighth grader Roberta Reeser was named the representative from our school by popular Vote of the student body. Roberta represented our school in several parades, was presented a trophy for her efforts in behalf of fire prevention, and was pictured in both metropolitan newspapers. LIBRARLANS. Student helpers in the library include the following girls: Seated, Sherry Hays, Gayle Smith, Carolyn McKinney, Jaxie Slatter, Sandra Fox, Karen Amann.
