DEDICATION In grateful appreciation we dedicate the 1962 Quill to Mr. Charles Shell, our capable and understanding superintendent. Due to his earnestness of purpose, his straight-forwardness, his eager- ness to serve boys and girls, and his willingness to give freely of himself for our good, we have learned to respect him, and seek his guidance. Through his untiring efforts and foresightedness our school has made very definite strides forward. 12

SENIORS DARREL NIXON The Valedictorian and Salutatorian at M.H.S. have been chosen for many years at the end of the fifth grading peri- od. The same procedure was followed this year. Beginning with the school year of 1962-63, honor students will not be announced until Commencement night. This is the first year for the Elmer Armstrong Scholarship to be given, and the will stipulates that the SCHOLAR- SHIP shall go to the SENIOR attending COLLEGE whose FOUR- YEAR AV- ERAGE is the HIGHEST at the CLOSE of the SCHOOL YEAR.
