GRADE ACTIVITIES Activities in grade rooms have been somewhat interrupted this year due to crowded conditions. Never- theless many worthwhile and outstanding things have been accomplished and deserve recognition. One of the major projects in the fourth, fifth and sixth grades has been the Junior Red Cross. The children made wreaths for the Woodrow Wilson Hospital and also contributed liberally to the fund. The primary grade with an enrollment of forty three has developed very satisfactorily in reading with fourteen being above average. They have also been a very cooperative group. One of the major problems in the second grade has been to establish a friendly feeling toward fellow- classmates and to master skills in reading. The third grade has devoted much time to the study of health and original drawing during the year, trying to bring out individual talents. The drawing was particularly stressed in reading class because the children could illustrate the story read with a drawing. The fourth grade has spent much time in collect- ing waste paper for the scrap drive. They received three dollars and fifty cents for their paper, which they intend using for a class picnic. The fifth grade feels that they have accomplished the spirit of cooperation in both work and play which will help them in future years. The sixth grade goal has been the study and correction of faulty grammar used by the students in daily conversation. The object of the seventh grade has been to round out the elementary education and to get the group prepared for their entry into high school next year. The students have cooperated with their teacher splendidly and are eagerly awaiting next year when they may begin their high school careers. --.. . .Y ,... .. ,W-..,-.Y ..., - , -A vl..1J. len,
