BUGLE 1927 TEACHERS PARTY October 25 found the hrgh school tachers transformed by overalls and brg straw hats Into farmer boys who welcomed a curiously attlred crowd-on ordrnary occasrons known as grade teachers By the lrght of yack o lanterns the grotesque guests promenaded among the corn shocks Two an old fashioned splnster and a little Lord Fauntleroy rn bulglng trousers and stuff straw hat perched on one ear were Judged the funmest speclments of humamty present Those who failed to achieve the llmellght ln tms lens urely saunter donned roller skates and trred to excell ln the art of tumblmg Two over all clad frgures even mvaded the territory of thelr less acrobatlc fellow reveller who were merely trlpplng the llght fantastrc and gave an exhlbltlon of fancy l skating Later ln the evemng the varr colored balloons formmg the sky of thls unusual corn fleld floated down to earth and wound themselves around the dancers ankles A thunder storm relgned Fmally when there was only one ankle adomed by an mflated balloon the dance subsided and that dancer was rewarded for her dexterlty rn avoldmg destructive balloon snatehers Refreshments consxstmg of all sorts of goodres ln the shape of pumpkm faces plled hugh on orange and black paper plates brought thus Halloween plcnrc to a satrsfymg close JUNIOR SENIOR PARTY DECEMBER I7 The decoratmg commlttee spent much txme and energy rn gettmg the gym ready for thus event Chrxstmas ornaments and trrmmmgs were used rn abundance Also Santa Claus furnxshed a Chrrstmas tree for the students Dancmg was enjoyed and between dances punch was served Charlle Hoyt entertamed with feature dances and songs which were enthuslastrcally applauded Ice cream and wafers were served later m the evenmg FRESHMAN PARTY A great number of Freshmen turned out at the party on January ZI The gym was cleverly decorated ln the hlgh school colors red and whxte wlth balloons hangmg from red and whlte streamers I am very sad to say that the balloons didnt last very long because the boys collected them and teased the glrls wrth them Naughty naughty' Dancmg and card playmg were enjoyed durmg the evenmg Later Ice cream and lolly pops were served Promptly at ten 0 clock the party broke up although nobody wanted to go home SOPHOMORE PARTY ln the hrgh school gym February 4 the Sophomores held a Valentine party whrch was well attended Valentine decorations beautlfled the gym Behrnd a very large heart Miss Wood was found telling fortunes It was a revelation to the Sophs how many of their secret love affarrs were known to thls soothsayer The students also played games and danced to the music of Eldon Kopke s orchestra One of the noted dancers of Monroe Hrgh Charlre Hoyt honored the Sophs wrth a feature dance and song Susles Feller Between dances the punch bowl was very popular Later rce cream and cake were served 9 v v . . , . . . . . . . 1 .- s - ' . . . . . v - Q ' ss . 6.3 - . v . v . , . . . .
