--------------M 1BugIe---n------------- THE CIRCUS The circus held at Lincoln Gym on March 6 and 7 was a huge success. it was amusing and also served to show the very splendid work done by the Physical Education Department. The circus started out with Max McKone as ring master, followed by a parade in which all students interested took part. After the parade the following big acts took place: I. liarry Hikemanls rube band was engaged especially for these two evenings, after a year's successful run in high class vaudeville. 2. Annie Pavlo, famous dancer, gave one of her solo dances. 3. Madame Fatima and Prof. Nutsky gave a demonstartion of the wonders of mind reading and mental telegraphy in their startling act. 4. The Ringtail famous lady fun makers, 4O in number, gave one of their clown dances. 5. Senorita Margarita Cuspidore and Senor Don Cigaretto, world known Spanish dancers, gave a correct interpretation of the national dance. 6. Prof. l. li. Brave dove blindfolded a distance of 30 feet into a tank, three feet in diameter. This was the most startling diving act in the history ,ff ring performance. -s- ------------ ------ I9 Bugle ------------ - Tllli lVI.ORlS'l' Slllll' As a part of the annual lligh School lirolic, held February 5, at the Family Theatre, the Dramatic Club of the junior and Senior classes presented The Florist Shop, a short play with much merit. The cast of characters was as follows: Maud, the booklceeper .. ......... Lucille Ott Hery, the ofiee boy ........, .. l.ouAllen Bunkleman Slovsky, the jewish proprietor . . ..... Arthur VVright Mr. jackson ................ ...... I francis Leason Miss XYells . . . . . Hazel Kreiselmeier The play dealt with a number of exceedingly interesting incidents in the routine of events in a tlorist's shop. The soft-hearted booklceeper who gave away flowers was very much interested in the culmination of a fifteen year romance. The sympathetic conversations of the bookkeeper and the toughness of the office boy added io the humor. Mr. hlaclcson and Miss VVells became happily mated at the end and Slovsky, though very economical at the beginning, became quite generous and kind-hearted as long as business was good. 25 - ----------- -- -5-

Cyclone O'Reilly, noted light weight champion of the universe, offered S100 to anyone remaining in the ring with him for three rounds. 8. The high school gymnastic team was much in evidence in mat and parallel bar work. 9. The natives of Oldport consented to come to Monroe and put on a series of old-fashioned square dances. IO. Dansbinsky and Spencerinsky, renowned imitators of noted sculp- ture work, were seen in nine famous poses. II. The review of the Marching Maids was a feature gymnastic tac- tics march. I2. Radio setting up exercises were explained and demonstrated as they are received direct from WCX. 13. The world-renowned Greek pyramid team was engaged to build a series of ten pyramids. I4. The feature number of the program was the securing of Heart- strong, well known movie dog, by the management. Heartstrong came di- rect from Hollywood and is on his way to northern Michigan, where he will be filmed in a startling drama of the 'North. 15. There were numerous clown acts interspersed throughout the pro- gram to keep the audience in good humor. A dozen clowns were secured for this occasion. 16.
