.',...g1-1...-u1n-.ggigliuilli lininiqlilq.. . -r-- ------------ ----- ----------- 'Bugle ------ ----------- - - - In the past year the Monroe High School orchestra has been progressing rapidly. There has been an increase in the number of members and a marked increase in ability. This progress is due not only to the able director, Mr. Bromley, but also to the great amount of effort and energy displayed by the young musicians. This year the orchestra has put all popular selections aside and is only playing selections from standard classics. Although the orchestra has played before the assembly many times, the most important appearance was at the High School Frolic when the following program was presented: ,Opening-War of the Nations . . . .... Mackie-Beyer 2. Fraternity Overture .................. .. Mackie-Beyer 3. Love's Old, Sweet Song ...................... J. I. Molloy Saxophone Solo, Albert Wagner . 4. Milady Overture .......................... Mackie-Beyer 5. ,Faust Selection . . . . . A. S. Bowman 6. Graduation March . . . .... . . . ..... Mackie-Beyer Many realized for the first time, when they heard this program, that Monroe high school has a musical organization of which it can be very proud. Much credit should be given to Mr. Bromley for his excellent worn and to the members for their unceasing efforts to do that which they set out to do. tl '5-5.5 ii? :E-5 FEE EE EE EE- :veg EEA Q-iii E22 5 --'- - - -' -I'-I'-ll-ll-1- ofa

Thazzksgizfifzg Difzner for the Paar On December I6 the Girl Reserves had a regular meeting at the high school. They were honored by hearing Mrs. Peter Stair give an entertaining talk on Christmas stori s. After the meeting the girls held a reception for their mothers in the high school dining room. Sleigh Ride . . jingle bells were in order one night in January when 35 Girl Reserves went for a sleigh ride around town. After everyone's nose was frozen, they went to Elizabeth Zabel's home to thaw out, and there they were served sandwiches and cocoa. Faculty Tea . . ln the early part of September the Girl Reserves gave a Faculty Tea in the high school gym in honor of the new women teachers of the high school. Gossip was the fashion, and talk ranged from jokes to faculty men. Every- one drank gallons of tea and consumed tons of cookies. The Eighth Grade has a very successful rchestra conducted by Miss Margaret Dusseau. Much hard work has been done and time given and the results are very pleasing. They have appeared upon several occasions and pleased their audiences much. ---------M ---- ---------------M 1925 -M -------- ------.-.--..-
