We knew that it would be the last September that we would ever enter as students. We chose Bebe Leason as President. With Dansby as leader the football team, composed for the most part of Seniors, had a very successful year. In fact every activity our class had an important part to play. During our last year the romance of 'tBebe and Pete developed rapid- ly, as did the case of Gen and Bill. Esther Stotz, who was always a modest child, asked a friend sitting next her in an automobile, which had about twelve in it, if he would move over as he was squeezing her. Carl Wagner, the expert judge of girls, expressed his opinion that THE GIRL was the one who went with a fellow because sue llkcsn mm, not for what she could get out of him. Before I discontinue using my pen I will state that Mr. Spencer, our Superintendent, graduated with us. L. M. '25. .3 . 1 ll bl 1925 -- ----- ----------- - - - - 1.

HISTORY OF THE CLASS OF 1925 flixcerpts from the diary of one of its membersj One of the greatest events in the lives of the members of the class of 1925 happened in the year 1920, when we entered the eighth grade. As the eighth grade students had to go to the high school, we considered ourselves very important, although we never ventured to speak to any high school students, we watched them with envy. Near the end of that year, a most important event, our class breakfast, occurred at the Monroe Piers. In june we graduated forever from the grammar grades, anxiously waiting for Sep- Lember to come. The next fall we all were assembled again, now as Freshmen of M. H. S. How thrilled we were! That year, although Freshmen were always razzed, we established an exceptional record, considering that we were fresh Clieve Zehrbach made the varsity football team, while several others made the Reserve. Our boys' class basketball team was the champion team and received a cup. The girls were out of things that year. In our Sophomore year, we achieved a place for ourselves in another line, when Cletus Lajiness took first place in the eclamatory contest. To get more class spirit we had a few class parties which proved that our class could hang together. In June, when we received our credit slips, we realized with regret that already half our high school time was passed. The next year we started out by electing Ted Reisig as president. VVe determined to put our class on the map. Several Junior boys, among whom were the speedy fullback Bill Dansby, that small boy, Bebe Leason, liupp, Dugan, Reisig, and Lajiness, played football. In basketball we were well represented by Kaiser, Rupp, Leason and Dansby. On the tumbling team, a new thing for Monroe, Forrest Leedy did his stuff for us. During that year we found that in our class we had another kind of ability-dramatic. Lucille Ott and jake Bunkleman took important parts in the annual play. We continued to distinguish ourselves in other ways. There was a con- 1est among the different classes to see which class would have the least num- ber of failures during one week. As usual our class came out the winner with no other class being what we could call a rival. +--------- ----------- 1925 ----- ---------.--..-..-.--...+
