fn f LPM Y The GLASS presents ai UQVE' A10NgOe MUNRULUG MONROE HIGH SCHOOL ' ROCHESTER. NEW YORK John L. Quigley Jr. -Editor-in-Chief Peter R. Beaven-Business Manager MISS DORIS LAMOREE Dedication This year marks The nineTeenTh year of service To Monroe High School for one who has devoTed herself unselfishly To The educaTion and guidance of iTs sTudenTs. l'laving'previously held posiTions,aT WashingTon and Madison High Schools, she came To Monroe in I94O asa Teacher-secreTary. Following a change in The organi- zaTion of school adminisTraTion, she became a Teacher in The Business EducaTion DeparTmenT and has TaughT courses in reTailing and in exploraTory business. In l950, having compleTed her preparaTion in counseling, she became a member of The guidance counseling sTaTT in Monroe. Since ThaT Time. she has served Three classes-some eighT hundred sTudenTs-during Their years in high school from The TenTh grade Through graduaTion. We are happy To say ThaT we know her well and have beneTiTed Trom our acquainTance wiTh her during The Three years ThaT we have spenT under her guidance. Now, as we graduaTe, she graduaTes wiTh us, Tor she has chosen To reTire aT The close oT This school year. However, she sTill wanTs To remain associaTed wiTh educaTion and young people.' We counT her as one of our closesT Triends. lT is wiTh hearTTelT appreciaTion ThaT we remember The hours she has given Toward our improvemenT and adiusTmenT in life. She re resenTs The devoTion and dedicaTion To educaTion which we have TelT in all our Teachers. So iT is wiTh sincere respecT and deep aTiecTion ThaT we dedicaTe This boolc To Miss Doris Lamoree. 2 Foreword ln The ThirTy-Tive years since Monroe High School came inio being. many sTudenTs, as- immaTure young people. have enTered iTs doors: aTTer a few shorT yeT signiTicanT years These same sTudenTs have emerged as young adulTs, ready To move on in life as responsible ciTizens. As we look back upon our years in Monroe, we clearly see The influences which have molded us: our Teachers, our friends. The acTiviTies and aThleTics in which we have parTicipaTed. So we, having come buT a shorT disTance in life, pause To reTlecT upon our school experiences in Monroe as we srand on The paTh To The imponderable TuTure, prepared To carry forward The Torch oT knowledge To whaTever goal we choose in liTe.
