tfill 'fha echoes sound in evsxmj hall, fill our hearts inonsoaevinosfmill. oqe , ond ever omg hae. What memories of you, Monroe, shall we carry away with us? Perhaps it will be those of Wednesday morning assemblies, of Spring elections, with all their fervid campaigning, of classes that lasted too long, and llmch periods that didn't. Is it any wonder then, that we should want to keep these precious moments in our hearts forever? That, in essence, is the purpose of this yearbook, to preserve these moments, these memories for us alwaysg to help recall to us the teachers who have taught us, the friends we have made, the things we have done-this is the role Monrolog plays for us now. lt is through Monrolog, the key to the door of our high school days, that we, the Class of '52, wish to thank you, Monroe, for those five years so well and so fully spent in what is truly the fairest high school of them all. '-U T14 'fo The SCLFEST high school og Them oil we dill smog with haorfglwill, i Now we are Seniorsg with all the ea er expectancy of youth, we look forward to Sie future without hesitation or fearg indeed, with hope, confidence and optimism. For we, the Class of '52, are aware of now being on the threshold of new, broader horizons-career, college, or marriage. But as we look eagerly to the future, so do we look back longingly upon the past five sometimes wonderful, sometimes trying years. In those years, we have witnessed a world frantically searching for peace, and we have been vividly aware of the many epoch-making events that have occurred-the presidential elections, the activities of the United Na- tions, the emergence of war in the Far East. These we have felt and these we shall re- member. Yet we shall also keep with us other memories-memories of Monroe High. For, it is here at Monroe, we have learned, through the space of five short years, the meaning of maturity, of friendship, of loyalty. wall love imc avmoll vol LDL will sing OS togous vuciomj, on cl otmonol ., gf selcl, cmc:L track.

For five years they have had to listen to our jokes, hear our trou- bles with sympathetic ears, contend with our noise and incessant chatter, and, when we became Seniors, more often than not they were the object of our numer- ous a s. Alqhiugh several of the senior homerooms have been disrupted either this year or in one of the previous four years, the students of each room are thinking with fond memories of their homeroom teachers of the past as well as the present. Horneroom 345 will always remember Miss Anne Jackman, who, because of a broken hip, has not been with them for most of the senior year. This year home- room 262 welcomed Mr. Raymond Haughton who replaced Mr. Norman Mueller-,now 4
