W Us ek SENIORS Last fall when the old school bell we the class of 1948 once more gathered books and proceeded back to Monroe High lap of our twelve year years of struggles, we which might attempt to of this great journey, are swelling with knowledge. In this our last year, we have had Somehow, the ups have always managed to and have carried us through with smiles To start the year off with a bang, force of efficient class officers. For we chose Charles Habegger in the office vice-president we chose Chester Hirschy aged affairs in the absence of Charles. resumed its chime, together our text- School for the final journey. After gping through eleven came back prepared for any obstacle hinder our progress. Now at the end we face the future wish brains that both ups and downs. overpower the downs on our faces. we elected a full our chief executive of president. Ag who very ably man- Mildred Schwartz, who was elected secretary, was kept busy with minutes and records. x-Q LW'-2 at Q, 04 45 On November ll and again on the 15th, The dramatists of our class were made famous through their production of a do- mestic comedy entitled, nPolishing Papa.n The cast included Sidney Smith, a rich sausage manufacturer-Ernest Steury, Arthur Smith, eager to invest his dad's money-Donald Wittwer, Jane Smith, Arthur's sister, also possessed of illusions- Vera Yoder, Mrs. Stevens, housekeeper for Sidney Smith-Mildred Schwartz, Marie, a maid-Bonnie Christener, Samuel Karman, an advertisinr solicitor-Chester Hirschy, Dick Brainerd, a young attorney-Carl Nussbaum, Rose Parker, with whom Arthur is in love-Rebecca Nussbaum, Rerinald Dabney, an English Lord-Weldon Nussbaum, and Pegay Sampson, a friend of the Smiths-Rosanna Sprunger. .,......... .----x-
