Softball game with Hartford. We try our luck at baseball against Geneva. Not much luck. Another game with Hartford. We won again. Monroe didn't celebrate its centennial today. Seniors made history by having a good party. Lucky Washington township students! They got to go to the Bluffton fair. Maybe we live in the wrong place. Sophomores skated at Sunset. October Basketball practice starts. Started our weekly chapel service with Rev. Lester, of Decatur, as speaker. First School-Community meeting. Do we get a new school? What was that crash? Chester Hirschy had a nervous break down in typing class. Horror of horrors! Report cards already. Do you think we'll graduate? nBobby sox, saddle shoes,n our first pep session! 'Yippeel Today the teachers have to go to school. I always thought they needed to learn more. November We won our first basketball game. Hunting season opened. Maybe that's where the rest of our students wereg Dress rehearsal for the class play was a flop. Sure hope things go better tomorrow. nPolishing Papan was a howling C?D success. 27. Thanksgiving vacation starts. December 1. Back at school. No vacation now for three whole weeks 5. Seniors choose Baccalaureate and Commencement speakers 9. N. L. Becher was snowed in at his girls house last night at Willshire. 12. Rat bait distributated among students. 24 . Dismissed this noon for Christmas vaction. January 9. A 15 minute pep session. 15. Juniors and Sophomores go to Fort Wayne to visit Post Office. 16. Monroe Junior High defeated by Debolt in their first basketball game. 26. Our dearest friend Miss Miller was absent today. 29 . Today was the Farmers Institute. 50. Smith and Zerchel of Hartford escort yell leaders home after the Monroe and Hartford game. February 5. Five of our students participated on the radio program, The City Desk, over station WKJG. . Juniors and Seniors go to Berne for a T.B. examination 10 16. We poor Seniors had another vocabulary test. 19 . Seniors decide on class colors, flower, and motto. 20. Order Regional tickets today. 20. Becher brings his girl from Willshire to the basketball game at Berne to see Monroe whip Decatur Commodores by 22 points. 20. When the cat is away the mice will play. Mr. Byrnes was at South Bend all day to the Drivers Conference. 26. Today was Mrs. Neuenschwander's birthday. What a day. 5he claims she is 59 but she looks a sweet 16. 27. Dismiss early today because of sectional tourney. March 5. Seniors receive their good looks in the form of graduation pictures.
