V x-Q png gl' FRESHMEN We are fortunate in being Freshmen because we envy the upper classmen and sympathize with ourselves. We are an exception to most Freshmen because we aren't in the least ngreennl We are thirty-five members in our class. At the start of the year we elected the following class officers which proved to be very efficient. Our President is Donald Hainesg Vice-President, Beverly Lobsigerg Secretary, Irene Schwartz, Treasurerg Diana Crist. Mr. Byrnes, our teacher and principal, is our worthy class sponsor. We participated in a contest with the Sophomores to see which class could sell the most magazines. Although the Sophomores beat us bv a wide marrin it helped raise the Freshmen class fund. We have had one class party this year and that was a skating party at nSunsetn in Decatur. We are planning to have another party before school is ou which we are sure will be as much fun as the first one. We went on a field trip to the New Sentinel buildina in Fort Wayne. We all enjoyed it very much and found ou how our news-papers, which we read daily, are printed. Most of us are planning to be seniors and graduate from Monroe High School in n5lu. ., ----v
