Paris Saved! Oil in Paris? Invisible dogs? A bottomless pit? All these and more were found in Girandoux's two act comedy The Madwoman of Chaillot. This madwoman, Countess Aurelia (Lisa Hughes) called upon her Parisien companions to rid the world of greed and pestilence. Since no decision could be made without due process of justice, a mock trial was held in Aurelia's cellar; the oil tycoons versus the people of Paris. The final judgement relegated the corporate presidents, prospectors, new reporters, and female pressure groups to the eternal depths of the sewers of Paris. 14

Couples Sail Away To Tropics There's only one night each year that you can stay out all night and get away with it—Prom. Come Sail Away ' theme of Prom '78 treated the senior class to a cruise aboard an old schooner to an island in the tropics. Murals depicted lush foliage and wildlife from a deserted island complete with a pirate's chest of booty long forgotten. King Paul Gempler and Queen Maureen McGuire led their court and formal couples down the ship's gangplank before parents, friends and photographers. Music was provided by Have Another, a local country band. Sponsored by the parents of the juniors, Post Prom was held at St. Victor's gym, with Freeze providing entertainment until three. Instead of showing a movie the juniors chose to sponsor a breakfast at the Moose Lodge directly afterward. There were more than a few yawns over the orange juice and following the breakfast the couples were on their own for their own favorite way to watch the sun rise. Everyone found themselves living in one of the highpoints of their high school years, each with special memories never to be forgotten. 16
