Autographs ■ ANNUAL PROPHECY OF 1953 Ten years have elapsed since we, the Class of 1953, have graduated from the classrooms and halls of old M.H. S. As we gaze into the memories of the past, we have already forseen many great doings that have come forth. As our gay and merry group gathered, we discovered that many changes, both happy and sad, have taken olace. Then, again, we found that many are still their old selves. Mrs. Michael Kubly, the former Miss Billie Wenger, is now engaged in singing torch songs at the fabulous Stork Club, which she and her husband own. Bob Geyer also sings there part time when he is not working as a grease-monkey at TRACHSEL'S SUPER-DUPER SERVICE STATION. You know he has to sing for his supper for there are many hungry mouths to be fed. Robert Dye is now busy running the Dye Farm Estate. He is also very busy paying fines for his two sons who have hopped-up kiddie cars with dual straights. What a coincidence! Does it sound familiar? Dick Goodrich and Dick McArdle now own Cy's out on the Monticello road. They lately added their own bottling works in the rear which is now called the Dick Dick Guzzling Works. David Forbes was in a very important golf tournament a while back, in which he played against Sam Snead, Bing Crosby, and last, but not least, Bob Hope. Audrey Peterson, Rosemary Purcell, and Marcia Sery have bought out the Goetz Theaters. Goetz threw in his Drive-In also, at which the girls have many customers like--Judith Holland and Delbert Shaffer, who haven’t heard wedding bells yet. I am still wondering what's keeping them. Mary Ann Donny teachers the Swiss Classes at Night School. It keeps her nights very busy. (She is still undecided!) We found that there're also some others who are now teachers. For instance, Charles Wieman has relieved Frederick Simpson of teaching American Problems in good old M. H. S. Glenda Langston followed in her mother's footsteps and is teaching kindergarten at the East School. Raymond Carter is now Einstein's right hand man. Oh, yes! Some have even gotten as far as Hollywood. Helen Ann Stauffacher and Herman have just left for Hollywood where Herman will have the lead role in Walt Disney’s Flea Circus. Jacqueline Grant, alias, Mrs. Thoreson, is portraying that famous part of Gloria Swanson in Sunset Boulevard. Norma Scott and Tom Wuetrich have just completed another of their many great masterpieces— Esquire On Parade! Kenneth Homb is one of their main employees. He picks out the models and holds the paint brushes for them. It keeps him occupied anyhow. Those still behind the plows are John Cotherman, Dalen Friedrichs, Bill Heinzelman, Richard Larson, Robert Stamm, Henry Tschanz, and our President, Milton Wolf. They keep their wives very busy at home. Robert Amos and Earl Booher have been running the A B Printing Shop, formerly Kohli's. They have been on a brief vacation for printing their own money. Rose Aeschlimann is now on parole under police chief, Thomas (Tiny) Holcomb, for spelling 'Washington wrong when she helped Pete and Earl set up the counterfeit plates. Larry Thornton and Paul Jeglum have taken over Ken-Budd's Used Car Lot, specializing in antique cars, 1940 and below. They finally persuaded Wesley Timmons, our beloved editor, to trade in his '39' Deluxe Ford fora '49' Ford, duals to boot. Roger Goodman also trades there quite often because his cars don’t run out of gas often enough. The most they ever got out of Rudy Buri was the purchase of a large economy size ball of twine for holding his car together. Saving???? The Diaper Department of the Monroe Laundry is in the hands of Gerald Van Wagenen. He gets a discount on all the clothes and diapers that Bev brings there. Wow!! They need a discount on that load! While all this is going on at home, Barbara Friedli is one of our Wisconsin senators who is trying to get a higher price on our famous Swiss Cheese. Bob Prien and Bob Hoesly represent Monroe. Maureen Bruni and Theresa Cleary, co-editors of Advice To The Love Lorn, are busy answering the many letters of Rosalee Kopp who just can’t decide which one is best. Others who write to this great heart-breaking column are: Gloria Prien, Gladys Rhyner, Beatrice Ruch, Ruth Wells, and Mary Robertson who wants to acquire a book on 'Boxing. ' In case you haven't noticed, there are two familiar faces now featured in the'Toni Home Permanent' advertisement. They are that of Jane and Janet Stauffacher. Shirley Pickett and Jackie Poff are in charge of the Beautician Parlor. Merle Robertson is busy tending to the house while Barb is making millions on her new hit record I WENT TO YOUR WEDDING. Willis Hartwig has finally persuaded the editor of the Monroe Times to run his column, Remarks By The Wise. William Riese, who is editor of the TIMES, is also very interested in his new Steak House, which he just opened in our home town. He hired Hazel Howard as cigarette girl. Barbara Hughes applied for a job as waitress but finally ended up married to Roger Patterson who owns a Bee Farm. Many have joined the army and also the Wacs. Those who are under Hollis Maske(Head of the fox-hole division) are--Nathan Brand, Nathan Dale, Roland Locher and Paul Brandll. The Wacs are--Jackie Drake, Shirley Haeft, Grace Howard, Bernice Huber, and Commander Bev Soddy. As we glance at our neighboring town of Orangeville, we see many of our lasses married to O. H.S. lads such as Lois Priewe, Janet Holtshopple, Glenda Martin and Donna Marty. Alvin Goephert started his new Reducing Saloon” here, where Roxie Young is one of his steady callers. Ruth Dwyer, Marilyn Steiner, Lela Ladwig, Kathleen Blumer and Shirlene Hartwig are in charge of the huge telephone company there. Forensics 1ST. ROW; M. Miller; S. Isley; L. Roderick; R. Schadt; E.
