Each year leaves an imprint on the pages of time as the clock completes one more phase of it's work for our industrious young people. However, they leave memories of their accomplishments in price- less volumes as they step on a new threshhold of life-facing the world alone. Leaving those hall clocks behind, that were so essential to the pro- gress of history, is the hardest task - no longer will life begin at eight forty-five. Mr. Ernest R. Fox Superintendent of Schools MR. ERNEST R. FOX Superintendent of Schools AC mimstRation MR. GENE MAXIM Principal The past year has been filled with many new and un- expected challenges. The way in which these challenges have been met is of credit to the student body. However, these challenges are small when compared to the challen- ges that lie ahead for you, the class of 66 . You enter a world faced with many problems, over- population, rapid changes in technology and one of maybe greatest importance-living together in a world of peace. What effect will these challenges and many others have on your life? Maybe a more important question to ask is-How well prepared are you to meet these challen- ges? Most certainly the time spent in learning the 3 MR s has been an important endeavor, but is it enough by itself? We at Monroe High School think not. We feel a responsibility to not only teach subject matter but be- havior and attitudes as well. You the graduate will enter a life of more freedom than you’ve ever experienced. It also follows that more freedom will bring with it a greater need for in- dividual responsibility. How you accept this responsi- bility will largely depend on how well the home and the school has taught you the proper behavior and attitudes necessary to live in tomorrow’s world. Gene F. Maxim Principal
