 7 of r,. We, the 1964 annual staff, pay tribute, in this our 50th anniversary edition, to the memory of the late John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Ask not what your country can do for you, but rather what you can do for your country was the challenge JFK offered the American people as President of the United States and fulfilled as an American. It has been said the problems of the world were in his hands and the welfare of mankind was in his heart and it is with this thought, we respectfully dedicate our 1964 Hayu Saghalie.

 My family and I are very pleased to become a part of the community of Monroe. I have found my work as high school principal both interesting and enjoyable. I sincerely appreciate the splendid spirit and enthusiasm shown by the students of Monroe High School. Mr. Cole served in the Air Force after graduating from Moses Lake High School and is a graduate of Whitworth College. He has taught in Oregon where he also vice-principaled for four years at McCloughlin High School. He was principal of Kiona High School in Benton City, Washington, before accepting the Monroe principalship. Mr. Cole is assisted by vice-principal, Mr. Charles Wickizer, who formerly headed the Business Education Department at M.H.S. Mr. Wickizer is a graduate of Montana State University. SCHOOL BOARD President Warren Simon, Irving Scharf, Bill Boyden, Gordon Keck, and Lawrence Whitfield. 6
