The Greenies started the season by suffering a 7-o setback at the hands of Washington. They won their second game and then encountered Johnson. Although they lost to Johnson, they had the distinction of being the only team in the City Conference to score against them. V The team suffered hard luclc at the end of the season. After having 6-o leads over both Harding and Mechanic Arts, they saw these two teams score late in the game and thus saw a comparative victory reduced to a tie game. One bright spot of an interesting season was the naming of Captain Ray Lindmeyer and Bernard Mersch to the All-City Team. These boys fully deserved the honors bestowed upon them and will be sorely missed next season. A BASKETBALL The Green Wave was virtually drowned this past season with the team winning only three games. However. the boys played good basketball, under Mr. Williams' first year of tutelage, and provided more than the usual amount of thrills for one season of play. The mainstay of the team was Bernie Mersch, star center and scorer. He averaged about I0 points per game and was very instrumental in keeping the team together and keeping them functioning as well as they did.
